Lancaster Lunch

I visited The Borough in Lancaster on Tuesday for lunch with an Irish journalist. I had fish & chips (Fleetwood fish battered to perfection) whilst the journalist had steak & ale pie, with a half of Hen Harrier ale. Great service and lovely food– well worth a visit if you are in Lancaster!

Tea for Two in Morecambe

Afternoon tea is a very civilized affair and what better place to ‘take tea’ than in the glorious Art Deco surroundings of the Midland Hotel in Morecambe.  The fact that is was also Valentine’s Day added to occasion and so we took our seats in one of the cosy booths of the Rotunda cafe.

Lancashire on the menu

After Lancashire’s record breaking year of food and drink, it’s great to see the county’s reputation and delicious produce featured so prominently on the menu of a great traditional pub in one of Britain’s largest cities.
