This week saw the tourist board saying farewell to fellow team member Ann and as is customary we all travelled in convoy to Croston's most bellisimo Italian Fresco Fresco. As the sun beat down on to our 'alfresco' table and Italian voices drifted across the restaurant we could well have been in Italy instead of a very pretty and quaint English village on the outskirts of Chorley.
After drinks and a selection of appetizers (garlic, cheese and tomato breads) most of us opted for Fresco Fresco's 2 course early bird menu. I ordered my all time favourite pasta dish Spagehetti Alle Vongole (lots of clam meat, garlic and tomato sauce) and was not dissapointed. The pizza Lucia (rocket, cherry tomatoes, parmesan and mozzarella) looked fantastic and might be one to order next time. Unfortunately I had to say arrivederci and leave early but those who stayed were rewarded with fruit kebabs - a perfect way to refresh the palate - Bellisimo!
