With the sun shining it was perfect spring weather to put me and my friend in the mood for a trip to the Bowland Wild Boar Park, Chipping, to see all the new born animals.
On the way we decided to call at Booths in Clitheroe to grab a picnic and off we drove through the beautiful Ribble Valley country side to the Wild Boar Park.
After driving down the very steep hill, we were greeted by a very friendly chap who guided us to the already busy car park and out we got all excited about the lamb feeding and chick stroking!
With the park map in hand off we went avoiding the children’s tractor ride that whizzed around the park every 10 minutes or so, I was very upset I was too old to have a go!
We couldn’t believe how many animals there were; lambs, cows, bunnies, meerkats, wallabees not forgetting the wild boar. We then decided to buy a bag of animal food which was ‘hoovered’ out of our hands by the Llamas and goats.
After all of the ‘awwing’, and washing our hands may I add, we had a rest in the cafe, the smell of home cooked food was amazing and the cakes looked delicious!
The trip was not complete until we had a hold of the 2 week old chicks and a full grown sheep ‘kindly’ put on our laps!
Then, sadly, it was time to go home.
After a flat tyre trauma, where a nice couple came to our rescue! I was happy to be home to upload the thousands of photos we had taken onto my computer!
I will definitely be recommending the park to everyone!
