Being in the thousand strong audience when ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returned to the world famous Tower Ballroom for the first time in 5 years was a fantastic experience to be a part of.
My favourite moment of the show was when Chris Hollins, claimed the audience had inspired him to do so well. Unfortunately the local lad, Craig Kelly dancing the Cha-cha-cha with Flavia Cacace, only managed a score of 17 from the 4 judges was voted off the show after being in the dance off with Ricky Groves and Erin Boag.
Bruce Forsyth, the show’s co host, along with Tess Daly said the audience in Blackpool had been the best so far in the TV series and they certainly had raised the roof on a number of occasions.
Rod Stewart singing the Isley Brothers ‘Same Old Song’ rocked along, whilst his wife Penny Lancaster danced with Matthew Cutler to his rugged tones. Very fitting when the words across the stage in the Tower Ballroom reads ‘Bid me discourse, I will enchant thine ear’ – he certainly did and so did an electric audience totally enthralled in this glamorous television extravaganza. Definitely not to be missed and hopefully will soon return to the home of ballroom dancing.

Fantastic to see this fabulous production back at the Tower and it certainly gave the production a lift with a double sized dance floor for the performers compared to the one in London. I hope this broadcast encourages other people to come and dance at the legendary venue
