The 2010 Tourism Awards winner for the Access category went to Mytton Fold Hotel and Golf Complex, a fabulous 3 star hotel with 43 fully en suite bedrooms.
Family run, surrounded by 100 acres of its own gardens and grounds the hotel provides fabulous conference and meeting facilities, committed to sourcing locally and providing the very best of local food for their customers, together with an outstanding 18-hole par 72 golf course.
Mytton Fold is committed to quality not only with their accommodation accreditation but engaging with the National Accessibility accreditation which was only the start for their dedication in providing the very best facilities for those customers with access needs.
Constantly updating and improving the facilities Mytton Fold provide an access statement explaining all of their facilities to customers and to give them an overview of how the hotel can be accessed for those with mobility problems. Providing 3 accessible rooms, staff trained in handling access issues for customers, public areas which are accessible to all different needs, golf facilities that allow buggy paths for ease of access, guide dogs accepted, large print menus and facilities adapted for all kinds of disability whether physical, hearing or visual.
One thing that stands out with Mytton Fold when talking to the family is with the families core values and commitment to their customers and providing facilities for all types of needs. A key area to why they do so well is how their message is portrayed via their staff. With dedicated staff training in accessibility the visitor experience now means that issues can be dealt with properly and understanding the accessibility issue rather than the fear of ignorance. The family encourage their staff to put themselves in the positions of customers with access requirements thus giving them a better understanding and not to single people out.
And the work doesn’t stop here, the hotel has plans to develop and improve their facilities in whatever way they can and more importantly from listening to their customers. In hosting a lot of events for groups with access requirements their customer feedback is directed back into their future developments only to make their product better and more committed.
