I am lucky enough to be working on Taste Lancashire 08 for a few weeks and I couldn't think of a nicer job, although I admit my appetite has ballooned since I started here. Why - because I am looking at pictures of food all day. Yum.
Within days of working here I had already developed a list of farm shops, farmers' markets and restaurants to visit. And I am looking forward to the weekend, so I can go and try some of this marvellous food.
I knew that Lancashire was awash with wonderful things to eat. I have always been unable to resist crumbly Lancashire Cheese, but now I find there is Chorley cakes, ice cream and even chilli beer to enjoy.
There are so many restaurants, anyone visiting here will never struggle to find somewhere to eat out.
One of the main tasks I have at the moment is to sort out a hamper of good, Lancashire food to represent the area and the produce available. I am thinking of putting in jams and chutneys, beer, chocolate, Lancashire Tea, but I wont be able to put in the wonderful sausage and other meat products that this area excels at!
