Having my brother and his friend over from Sweden over the weekend I decided that their visit couldn't pass without a proper English Sunday Roast dinner. Living in the Ribble Valley I am very lucky to have a vast number of pubs serving excellent home cooked food on my doorstep - the only problem was choosing where to take them... After much deliberation we opted for the Craven Heifer at Chaigley, which sits in the foothill of Longridge Fell in the Forest of Bowland.
Recently voted as one of the top 10 Sunday Lunch spots in the UK by the Times our expectations were suitably high and we were far from disappointed. For just £18 you will be served a very generous three-course lunch, with a selection of starters and main courses as well as any dessert from the menu. An all round highly recommended lunch experience and both my brother and his friend fell asleep contentedly in the back of the car as I drove them back to the airport!
