My weird and slightly childish love of crazy golf saw me trying out the new adventure golf course at the Pleasure Beach over the weekend. In glorious Blackpool sunshine we tried out this newly opened 12 hole course, complete with water obstacles, astro-turf and frustrating hurdles.
As a self-confessed crazy golf expert I thought it was well designed (with a mixture of easy and difficult holes) though quite sophisticated for an adventure golf course (I'm more used to negotiating plastic windmills and helter-skelter's). It was very busy on Saturday but we didn't have to queue and we moved around the course in less than an hour. The flags on each hole were a nice touch and the suggested routes for each hole added to the experience - not that we took much notice! (I'd also like to add that I won the game despite losing my ball in the water hazards more than once and the fact that my husband got a hole in one!)
As this is a food and drink blog I'd better get on to the food part of our visit. As we were in Blackpool we didn't feel we could leave without a bag of donuts from the Pleasure Beach (5 for £1.49) complete with little bags of optional sugar! Pure seaside nostalgic bliss - perfect as we walked along south shore to the giant mirror ball.
We couldn't resist re-visiting Seniors in Thornton on our way home to try something else off the menu. I tried the day's special - Halibut whilst my husband had Lemon Sole - both were very tasty. (But after the donuts I couldn't finish my chips.)
