First 2009 Lancashire Hot Shots Evening Announced

The first of our young chefs for 2009 is Oliver Martin who is currently chef de partie at the Ship at Elswick.

Having been brought up in a household where fresh, home cooked diners were the norm Oliver studied for his NVQ 1 and 2 qualifications at Blackpool and the Fylde College. Here he developed his knowledge of quality food and local produce which he now keenly emphasises in his work.

Kneps Farm Holiday Park Number One in the North West

Kneps Farm Holiday Park in Cleveleys, Lancashire has been announced as the top caravan park in North West England by Practical Caravan and number 43 in the whole of Britain. Abbey Farm Caravan Park, Ormskirk, are also listed in the 'Top 100 Caravan Parks' in Britain at number 80.

One for cheese fans!

March's walk of the month is the Lancashire Crumbly Cheese Walk - a 6 mile ramble around Garstang and the area known as the 'Lancashire Milk Fields'.
