Yesterday my family and I made the most of the extra hour and enjoyed a great day out at Thornton Hall Farm Country Park.
Situated in Pendle, close to the Yorkshire border, the farm is surrounded by stunning countryside and views. With animals and tractors galore my little boy was in his element!
As soon as you arrive you can see that a lot of thought has gone into the layout and facilities the farm park has to offer.
This week the farm is really geared up for Half Term and Halloween with lots spooky decorations and pumpkins everywhere.
We explored the straw maze, played on the tractors, then in the sand pits and swung around on the rope swings before we’d even got to see the animals.
We met a very very big Shire horse and a really cute miniature Shetland pony, petted the goats, rabbits and pigs. Then it was time to help feed the lambs and calves.
All the fun helped us to work up an appetite so we decided to get some lunch in the tea rooms where they served some yummy food and delicious cakes – and it was great value for money.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day (although a little windy). However, the farm offers lots to see and do under cover so would still be great fun on a wet day. I can’t wait to go back.
