1. A Cartford Country Walk- 4 Miles The award winning Cartford Inn have mapped out a leisurely walk that starts and finishes at the inn. 2. The Three Fishes and the River Ribble- 1.5 and 3 miles Nestling on a limestone rise above the River Ribble, the tiny hamlet of Mitton was described by Victorian travel writer, William Howitt as “one of the most perfect nooks of the world. One of the places that stand as they stood ages ago”. To this day, the appearance of the picturesque village of Mitton has hardly changed. 4. Rawtenstall and Cribden Hill - 3 miles Starting from the Whitaker Museum, this walks takes you through Rossendale and Haslingden, via the Halo - a striking Panopticon that can be seen from miles around. Strictly speaking The Whitaker Museum isn’t a pub but its café serves up a very fine Sunday brunch and lunch making use of local suppliers. Well worth a visit. <<Download the route>>
5. Caton, nr Lancaster - Fenwick Arms – 8 miles A varied, eight-mile circular walk, offering stunning views along the way from Caton Moor and the Lune Valley. The walk starts and finishes from the Fenwick Arms. <<Download the route>>
