New gourmet destination
Led by award winning chef Mark Birchall the brand new Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms in Aughton will open its doors in March. Lancashire born Mark Birchall, who was most recently the Executive Chef of 2 Michelin Star L’Enclume in the Lake District, is at the helm of this new Lancashire gourmet experience. Read more
Hamlet and Huts
After opening the Shepherd Hut Hamlet in 2016, Samlesbury Hall will be adding more new Shepherd Huts in 2017. These colourful huts provide a rustic and carefree alternative to a traditional hotel room. Beautifully handcrafted, complete with two double beds, electricity and cosy en suite. Read more
New life for the Mill
Holmes Mill, on the edge of Clitheroe town centre, is already part way through its transformation into the town’s latest food and drink experience. In addition to the stunning Beer Hall (with the longest bar in Britain), café, gelateria and shop, a first phase of hotels rooms will open in May. Read more
Making History
The very first National Festival of Making will take place in Blackburn, from 6-7 May and will celebrate the UK’s unrivalled making heritage and its bright future. Manufacturers large and small will collaborate with artists on a series of new commissions.
Spa Satisfaction

Treasure in the Park
The UK’s biggest walkabout theatre presents Treasure Island from 4 July – 12 August in Lancaster’s Williamson Park.
Live in Lytham
Chart topping pop star Olly Murs, the Human League, Midge Ure, the legends Madness and a host of Westend stars will take to stage at Lytham Festival from 2 – 6 August. Tickets on sale now
Trucks Away!
Celebrating over 100 years of truck manufacturing in Leyland the world’s first truck trail will be unveiled this year between April to September. Read more
Fit for a King
Hoghton Tower celebrates the 400 year anniversary of the Knighting of Sir Loin by James I with re-enactments and study days throughout 2017. Read more
Under Construction
Throughout 2017 Blackpool Pleasure Beach will be building a new £16 million rollercoaster. It will be the UK’s first ever double-launch coaster, an advanced technology that gives the roller coaster two powerful thrusts of acceleration during the ride.
