Located in the heart of Lancashire is the Best Western Premier Leyland Hotel, winner of the Large Hotel of the Year category at the recent Tourism Awards. This 4 star accommodation has undergone a major refurbishment over the past couple of years and with manager Terence Southward at the helm is rightly deserving of this accolade.
With easy access from the motorway and set in it’s own grounds all the bedrooms feature 28” flat screen tv’s, CD players, power shower units and high quality bedding throughout whilst the Liberty Rooms, are designed specifically with the lone female traveller in mind and feature GHD straighteners, cotton wool balls, gowns, slippers and scales! The hotel also features free access to the internet through out, local delicacies on check-in and even a library (I challenge anyone to read a chapter in the ten foot high chair found in reception).
With the new leisure club featuring an indoor swimming pool, spa bath, steam room and sauna the perfect venue to continue relaxing in is the Four Seasons Restaurant where the menu includes such delights as Ribble Valley Sirloin (pepper crusted Carpaccio of sirloin with a rocket, redcurrant and parmesan salad), Longton Pork Wellington (outdoor reared Longton pork fillet with mushroom duxelles, encased in golden puff pastry on a bed of spring greens) and for desert my favourite Lancashire Belles (choux buns filled with homemade parkin ice-cream with a warm chocolate fondant sauce) yum! And all freshly prepared by head chef Marshall and his team.
STOP PRESS:
The Leyland Hotel Restaurant has just been awarded the Highest Quality Assured Taste Lancashire Accreditation. Congratulations.
Breakfast is just as delightful with a great selection of juices, breads and cooked goods all served under the watchful eye of Eileen for more years than she would like mentioned.
The hotel also has a growing reputation for business meetings and conferences and has just had a new banqueting suite built all of which is overseen by a team of dedicated staff led by Leanne.
You may have guessed that the staff play an important role in the running of this hotel. Recruitment is key, followed by an extensive and ongoing training programme which keep the needs of the customer at it’s core. No wonder customer feedback is excellent, and visitors return time and again.
As the citation at the awards said:
